Keep Phoenix New Times Free
We’re aiming to raise $10,000 by April 26. Your support ensures New Times can continue watching out for you and our community. No paywall. Always accessible. Daily online and weekly in print.
If you mourn the departure of RandomCon from the Valley’s strategic gaming scene — and really, who doesn’t? — cheer up at the debut Phoenix Vul-Con 2012. Aficionados of stuff like Dystopian Wars, Munchkin Zombies, cosplay, and world-creation in general will find not just merch, supplies (like terrain and cases for miniatures, or customizable card and dice towers), and celebrity guests — such as fantasy authors, artists, game designers, and costumer/model/actress/bona fide female Caribean Sera — but the most elusive prize: like-minded flesh-and-blood people with whom to enjoy everything, including open play and tournaments aplenty.
Attention, Wil Wheaton: Any attempt to affect outcome by lying about your Meemaw will result in immediate expulsion.
