It has not been a good month for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Injuries to key players, cold bats, and bad pitching have combined to knock the D-backs below .500. At the moment, the defending NL West champions seem more likely to finish in the cellar than as champions. The D-Backs can at least take solace in knowing that things could be worse: They could be the Milwaukee Brewers.

Like Arizona, the Brewers are in danger of slipping from first to worst. Unlike the D-Backs, however, the Brewers can’t write their poor start off to bad luck — the Brewers seem to have simply turned back into a pumpkin after last year’s Cinderella season.
