Zombies aren’t the only scary creatures grabbing headlines in 2012. The astrological Year of the Dragon has thrust the scaly, fire-breathing reptiles into the limelight, whether painted on the hood of an $850,000 Ferrari or suckling Emilia Clarke’s teat on Game of Thrones.

Now Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey are hopping on the mythological bandwagon with their latest offering, Dragons. The show brings viewers into a fantastical world populated by four tribes of dragons, with performers including dog trainer Hans Klose, The Flying Caceres, and a family of eight motorcycle daredevils who race around a steel globe.

Sadly, no actual dragons will fly in for an appearance. But rest assured that Ringling newcomer Alexander Lacey will up the scare factor by attempting to tame a troupe of snarling lions and tigers.
