Just a year after Ashley Harder purchased and renovated the building at 335 West McDowell Road, the local developer and arts champion has hosted community meetings and mural celebrations that have given us another reason to check out the art scene in midtown. And on Friday, September 21, she’s back at it with a pop-up art show.
When Harder first cleaned up the building (which was once Sage Boutique) and added a few interior walls, she said she hoped to eventually lease out the space to groups of local entrepreneurs. “I’m in a building with great flooring, incredible lighting, and plenty of wall space,” Harder said last May. “I want to see something great happen here … and in the meantime, I want to throw a party.”
The party continues when Harder hosts Rocco Menaguale of Rocco Designs and Brian Cresson of Alter Ego Studios. Menaguale and Cresson will show their latest work, including fashionable pieces, to the tune of live music, beverages, and snacks, and plenty of mingling by local art fans.
