Way back when, in the days leading up to the NFL’s 2011 season, the Philadelphia Eagles were touted as a dream team of sorts. Even casual birdwatchers may recall that our beloved Arizona Cardinals contributed to the early Eagle hype by giving Philly cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie in exchange for a fella by the name of Kevin Kolb.
Turns out the Eagles were instead a dream team out of sorts, finishing 8-8 while missing the playoffs, an outcome identical to the Cardinals’. But fall is fast approaching, a new NFL season is underway. On Sunday, September 23, both the Eagles and the Cards oughta be schlepping sizable chips on their shoulder pads at Glendale’s University of Phoenix Stadium, 1 West Cardinals Drive, making for a good old-fashioned bird brawl. Fortunately, the Cards are 1-0 against their fellow fowl this year.
