Independent Journalism in Phoenix Needs You
We need to raise $15,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.
How many times have you put off your Halloween costume and end up throwing on some zombie makeup or cat ears (or both) at the last minute? Daniel “Steam Crow” Davis, don of all things spooky and fun, wants to restore honor to the fine art of celebrating All Hallows’ Eve with Keen Halloween on Saturday, September 29.
Davis started as an illustrator with an interest in monsters and otherworldy things and his efforts as Steam Crow have snowballed into an empire of endeavours to bring ghoulish excitement into people’s lives. Keen Halloween is a full-on bazaar of inspiration for great costumes and swinging shindigs with an Evil Genius Costume Bar, Monster Market of vendors, and DIY workshops. Entertainment includes the Dr. Diabolic variety show, an Iron Skull costume competition, and the punk-grass tunes of the Haymarket Squares.
