Grab a fork and save some extra room. On Saturday, November 3, you’ll need both for an extra dose of pie.
Roosevelt Row and New Times’ food blog Chow Bella are teaming up again for the annual Pie Social. They’ve invited a star-studded cast of celebrity chefs including Brady Breese of Urban Cookies/Ollie Cakes, Tammie Coe of Tammie Coe Cakes, Jeff Kraus of Crepe Bar, Tim O’Connor of Honey Moon Sweets, and Amanda and Corianne Sizemore of Treehouse Bakery (among others) who will battle it out for popular vote in a variety of crusty categories.
If you’re still hungry, head to the community baker area, where members of the community are invited to bring their own pies in exchange for tasting tickets (two pies = 5 tickets). Attendees can also bring a $10 donation for 5 tasting tickets. All community pies are open for public tasting.
The sweet feast will take over the Ro2 Lot, 1005 North Second Street, from 2 to 6 p.m. Those looking to burn off a couple consumed calories can head to the grass, where croquet mallets, balls, and wickets designed by ASU art students will be ready for a community-wide tournament.
