$10,000

Walk up to any of the plaster casts now on view at Eye Lounge gallery and you might spot a familiar face. For weeks, Phoenix artist Lara Plecas gathered dozens of members of the community and had them sit very still while she created doubles of their mugs for the exhibition “Residual Energy.”

She writes in her artist statement that the pieces are of “the community of people that [she has] grown to know. Each person has their own personal energy that they share and that is left behind. [She believes] all the people that we get to know leave an imprint on you in some way and that will always be with you.”
