Midcentury Modern furniture, shrunken heads, and everything in between, that’s what shoppers will find at indie, vintage, and handmade festival The Big Heap. “Expect to find unique, unusual, intelligently designed and executed things.” event co-founder Lori Cowherd says. “This isn’t a craft, antique, or an art fair. This is a gathering of things that sometimes defy category but somehow work well together.”

The three-day marketplace is more than funky finds, though. On Friday, HGTV Design Star finalist Britany Simon will make an appearance and decorate a tent with items from the Heap. Sunday features the “I ain’t taking this home with me” auction, hosted by Johnny Bee of Cave Creek Auctions.

Nov. 16-18, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., 2012
