The anti-hero portrayed by Brad Pitt is the flipside to Edward Norton’s nameless protagonist in David Fincher’s 1999 film Fight Club, and they get the anti-consumerist party started this Saturday, December 1.
For nearly a year and a half, Cult Classics has given victory laps to flicks that are too enjoyable to not be experienced in a crowd. The grim but humor-spiked Fight Club, based on Chuck Palahniuk’s 1996 breakthrough novel, sees Durden and the protagonist initiating nightly, underground slugfests to disrupt their daily numbness. As their movement grows, they stir up even bigger chaos meant to shake up the corporation-driven status quo.
