Chris Maker’s visual art has an interesting perspective. The Phoenix-based artist was trained as an architect and city planner and uses his experiences with planning and structure to create dialogue.

Maker describes his work as “an exploration of the composition of place and time through the interpretation of cultural phenomena, the political state, and the physical environment,” which includes mixed media drawings and prints as well as oil and enamel paintings. His latest series, titled “Plato’s Cave & Meta Constructions,” draws from personal experiences as well as human behavior.
