Prior to the 2012 NFL season, quarterback Peyton Manning was a free agent, but he wasn’t just any free agent. Mr. Manning was perhaps the most highly coveted free agent in the history of the league and it had been widely rumored that the Arizona Cardinals were on his short list of suitors. Alas, Peyton landed in the Mile High City, narrowly slipping through the Red Sea’s grasp. Not surprisingly, the Broncos have flourished while the Cards have floundered at QB. And despite the Cards battling admirably to eke out wins, there is simply no position that is more vital to a team’s success than the quarterback.
