Welcome Diner quickly won over the hearts of folks searching for comfort food in downtown Phoenix. It has a little something for everyone: Meat eaters love the burgers, and vegans found a little slice of heaven with fried avocado po’boys. Plus, the restaurant is adorable — you really haven’t experienced Phoenix until you’ve sipped on a Hurricane while sitting at one of the outdoor tables. It’s been a full decade since Welcome Diner has operated in some capacity, so the restaurant is celebrating its 10 Year / One Year Anniversary to commemorate the classic dining hub and Michael Babcock and Jenn Robinson’s recent ownership. “There’s going to be a lot of celebrating at the diner that evening, and we want Phoenix to be a part of it,” says GM Wayne Coats. The anniversary party features a bevy of food specials (including half-off burgers) and rumors of live music.
Celebrate with Welcome Diner until 1 a.m. on Friday, February 7, at 924 East Roosevelt Street. Call 602-495-1111 or visit www.marthaandmary.net/welcomediner.
