A little friendly competition? We’ll drink to that.

The Fifth Annual Devour Phoenix Bartending Competition returns Sunday, February 9. This year’s lineup of drink-making daredevils will be broken up into two rounds. In the first round, it’s Evan Gibbs of Maizie’s Café versus Matt Tobey of District American Kitchen & Wine Bar and Ryan Richardson of Kazimierz World Wine. Then, taking it to the next level in round two, are Clever Koi’s Joshua James, The Gladly’s Richie Moe, Phoenix Public Market Café’s Jax Gonzalez, and Windsor’s Manny Pena.

Expect to have your preconceived notions of cocktails shaken and stirred. The Fifth Annual Devour Phoenix Bartending Competition starts at 2 p.m. at Crescent Ballroom, 308 North Second Avenue. Admission is $20 and includes seven drink tickets to sample one cocktail from each competitor. For more information, visit www.devourphoenix.com, www.crescentphx.com, or call 602-716-2222.
