The Tempe Center for the Arts will burst with color and pageantry when the second annual El Puente Theatre Festival & Mask Procession takes place. The festival is a day or music, food, games, mask-making and assorted art activities. There will also be cultural performances from area acts such as Quetzalli Ballet Folklorico, Desert Sounds Mariachi band, DJ Sean Derek, La Frida and la Flaca puppets, Axé Capoeira and others. The kids can enjoy a petting zoo, face painting and mini carnival. The first 500 attendees also receive free admission to a Childsplay performance of Charlotte’s Web.Additionally, Zarco Guerrero presents his dramatic performance art piece, “Face 2 Face in a Frenzy,” though the day’s highlight is the 5:15 p.m. masked procession across the Tempe Town Lake pedestrian bridge.

Join the free fun from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, September 21 at Tempe Center for the Arts, 700 West Rio Salado Parkway. Visit www.childsplayaz.org/puente.

Sun., Sept. 21, 2-6 p.m., 2014
