When the Arizona Diamondbacks and Padres kick off a three-game series at Chase Field, 401 East Jefferson Street, on Friday, September 12, the games will essentially be meaningless. But if you’re looking for something to do on a Friday night, don’t fret, there’s a silver lining. Sorta. While any hope of surviving into the postseason waved goodbye to each club a long time ago, you can bet that they will still claw and scratch like hell to avoid the dubious distinction of finishing the season in last place. In other words, the only thing the Dbacks and Padres are playing for at this point is their pride, even if it has been riding the pine since April. But hey, just because the Diamondbacks season has been forgettable, it doesn’t mean your Friday night has to be.
Opening pitch is at 6:40 p.m., tickets start at $12. Visit www.dbacks.com or call (602) 462-6500 for details.
Fri., Sept. 12, 6:40 p.m., 2014
