Some folk tales have odd morals, like “don’t make a fairy angry.” Sound advice, to be sure, but not always applicable to everyday life. Other bedtime stories teach solid lessons about character and behavior, cloaking the serious platitudes in the adventures of cute little animals. Such is The Little Red Hen, continuing through Sunday, December 7, at the Great Arizona Puppet Theater, 302 West Latham Street.

The Hen sweats (if hens sweat) over her wheat crop all the way from sowing the kernels to making bread from the resulting flour. Do her barnyard neighbors give her any help? And do they get any bread? Find out at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 23. Tickets are $7 and $10. Call 602-262-2050 or visit www.azpuppets.org.

Wednesdays-Fridays, 10 a.m.; Saturdays, 10 a.m. & 2 p.m.; Sundays, 2 p.m. Starts: Nov. 12. Continues through Dec. 7, 2014
