Hit musical Les Misérables has single-handedly (single-playedly?) taught two French words and a smidgen of French history to generations of audiences since its 1985 première on London’s West End, where it’s still running. This being not-London, we get to take in only two or three productions of it per season.
Old Blighty’s remote distance makes even Peoria feel nearby, and for crunchy spectacle and top-notch music, you can’t do much better than Arizona Broadway Theatre’s staging of Les Miz through Saturday, April 4. Thursday, March 12’s performances start at noon and 5:30 p.m. at 7701 West Paradise Lane in Peoria. Ticket prices vary with demand but start in the $40 to $60 range; dining and non-dining admission are available. Call 623-776-8400 or visit www.azbroadway.org.
