Looks like something cool is about to happen on Mill Avenue in Tempe.

Former San Franciscans and ex-corporate types Tina Chau and Sam Chang moved to the Valley a little over two months ago when, after a cross-country location-hunting excursion, they selected Tempe to be the home of their first ice cream dream.

Called Slickables Ice Cream Sandwich, the small cafe is located at 699 South Mill Avenue (in The Brickyard on Mill) and will specialize in the frozen confection, offering customers their choice of two homemade cookies with a scoop of any one of twelve flavors of Dreyer’s ice cream, for — get this — two flippin’ dollars.

Chau, who bakes the cookies, tells me folks can also purchase the ice cream or cookies separately. She hopes to have Slickables ready to go by Monday, December 26.
