For years The Deli in Queen Creek has been a favorite stop for those seeking made-from-scratch sandwiches, soups, salads, and pizzas. The restaurant bills itself as the best-kept secret in Queen Creek and in a way it is.

Now owners Blake and Nicole Mastyk, who both formerly worked at Cartwright’s in Cave Creek, are getting ready to open a sister restaurant to The Deli, which will be called The Bistro. The new spot is expected to open next month and will be located at 22721 S. Ellsworth Road in downtown Queen Creek.

The tentative opening date for The Bistro is Monday, June 16 — though that will depend on how long it takes to get permits in order. The restaurant will take over a space formerly occupied by Rhino Caffe on the northeast corner or Ellsworth Road and Sierra Park Boulevard.

It will be a coffee and wine-themed spot with a menu to be released shortly. For the summer the restaurant will serve breakfast and lunch, with plans to add dinner service when the liquor licences comes through, likely in September.
