Why simply eat your dessert when you can play with it too? Join The Bakery Café at The Boulders Resort for a gingerbread decorating workshop. Children and adults are invited to craft unique gingerbread houses while learning new techniques. If your gingerbread house looks like a tornado hit it — crumbs everywhere, frosting smeared in strange places, and candies tossed haphazardly — this event will teach you how to create an edible work of art, or at least something you won’t want to blame on accredit to your child.

There will be decorating workshops at both 1 and 4 p.m. on Thursdays December 20 and 27. The entry fee of $22 per person includes the edible house, several types of frosting, pastry bags and tips to use, and decorating materials such as colorful candies. Call 480-488-9009 for reservations.
The Bakery Café will also have a selection of holiday desserts available to-go from now until Christmas Eve, including Charlotte lady fingers served with champagne mousse, bourbon pecan pie, traditional Bûche de Noël with candied cranberries, mini stollen bread (German fruitcake), and more.
Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $15,500 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
