Reader support matters more than ever

We're in the final stretch of our summer campaign. Our goal is to raise $15,000 by August 9 to support the journalism our community relies on. Reader support is helping shape the future of local news.

$15,000

Alas, the constant search for the best party in town can be a little exhausting. Sometimes, Club Candids needs a quick break from the saturated scene. This week, we decided to hit up one of our favorite local venues, The Brickhouse Theater, on Thursday, September 20, to check out a battle of the bands (Click here for more photos). The night was casual, easy, and a lot of fun as we cruised around, snapping photos and making light conversation.

Most of the crowd was there to support their chosen band, so the usual high-pressure frenzy for desperate drunken hook-ups was nonexistent (thank God). Yes, it was a trouble-free night full of amiable folks. And it happened to be the perfect warm-up for the over-the-top debauchery that took place during the weekend — which we chose not to photographically record (for good reason).
