Shhh! Can you keep a secret? Good, because we wanna drop dime on the laidback, under-the-radar-style affairs that are going down at speakeasy-like Merc Bar, 2525 East Camelback Road, every Sunday evening. The night is cooler than owning the entire Miles Davis catalog on vinyl, with DJ Joe DiPadova and a wide range of guests (such as Brazilia, who’ll drop by on Sunday, June 20) spinning in style at the darkened drink den located at the Esplanade. Every weekend, they’ll paint the place with cutting-edge lounge music, occasionally accompanied by instrumentalists like saxophone player Shea Marshall. DiPadova wants to keep things on the down-low (which is why he’s not papering the Valley with any slick-ass fliers), so whatever you do, don’t tell anybody that the music runs from 7 to 11 p.m. (or even later, if the joint stays jumpin’). And please don’t call 602-508-9449 for more info.
