It’s hard to imagine some of Phoenix metro’s most notable art and hip-hop events going down without some sweet live-art creation.

Thank Adam Dumper for that; he’s one our town’s originators of the funky visual happenings. With ambition and street-honed graphic skills, Dumperfoo has been getting busy since the early ‘90s. His style is graffiti-centric (cartoonishly grotesque faces often pop up), but with a dash of pop-art awareness and a vibrancy reflective of music that makes people move.

Dumperfoo has culled his skills into an art exhibit called “Pick Up the Pieces,” currently on display daily through September 27 at Taste of Tops. Hell, the name of the show is even an allusion to the Average White Band’s classic funk groove.
