In the midst of a world tour, a British soul man who’s been compared to Prince (think early ‘90s Prince) and Beck rolls into town.

Now, what’s not to like about that?

The bloke in question is Jamie Lidell, who smashes together techno with a mix of soul, funk, and beat-box, all elements that are displayed on Compass, his most recent release that Beck produced. In a live setting, Lidell’s been known to put on a lively show — he’s most often described as a “cool, mad fool.” If you’re lucky, he might just pull out the snakeskin.

Brooklyn-based Twin Shadow, who will be celebrating his debut album Forget, will precede Lidell.
