Advertising Can't Do It Alone
The challenges facing local news organizations are very real. That's why reader support matters more than ever. If you believe independent journalism matters, make a contribution today and help us reach our summer fundraising goal of $15,000 by August 9.
The turbo-charged V-6 on your ultra-cherry ’83 Buick Grand National is purring like a 180-horsepower kitten. Now you need somewhere to show how it can fly down the road. With those new-fangled cameras lining Valley freeways, a high-speed jaunt on the Loop 101 ain’t reccomended. Instead, take your pride and joy to the Buick West Coast Nationals. Buick fans will be driving their souped-up Skylarks and Rivieras in several different speed categories for cash prizes. (Any car powered by a Buick engine can also participate.) The next day, dubbed “Sunday TNT,” will be devoted to more informal competition.
