The challenges facing local news organizations are very real. That's why reader support matters more than ever. If you believe independent journalism matters, make a contribution today and help us reach our summer fundraising goal of $15,000 by August 9.
Okay, we fess up. We’re huge nerds, even in social settings. We’re the type who storm out of retail stores that cherry-pick certain songs from John Coltrane’s A Love Supreme instead of playing the entire 33-minute suite. We read post-apocalyptic magical realist fiction from sub-Saharan African novelists at crowded Mill Avenue bars. Same thing when it comes to watching television, which we consume zero of unless it’s something super dorky/nerdy/dweeby/geeky. That’s why we plan to be front and center at the big screen at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication during the school’s Election Night Coverage. Popcorn will be served (and possibly thrown at the screen if McCain wins).
