Hungry for your early morning serving of food news, with no preservatives or additives?
Winemaker’s Dinner Series Kickoff Wright’s at the Biltmore will be kicking off its 22nd season of Winemaker’s Dinners this Thursday, October 6th. The first dinner in the series will feature wines from the 40+ year old  ZD Winery of Napa, California. Dinner will feature four courses created especially for the night by executive chef Todd Sicolo and executive sous chef Conor Favre.  Start with passed hor d’oeuvres at the 7 p.m. opening reception then enjoy an open faced grilled cheese, a charred rabbit bratwurst, prime rib, and a dark chocolate caramel praline/toasted hazelnut crunch for dessert. Each course will be paired with the complementing wine and port and cigars will be served after the meal. Seating is limited. $95 ++ per person. Click here for more details.

Slow Cooker Soup Soup doesn’t get any easier then this. You literally have to throw a few ingredients in the slow cooking, turn it on, and then go about your day. Once it’s time to eat just heat the milk and chicken or turkey (the recipe calls for turkey, but we subbed chicken and it was awesome), mix it in with what’s in the slow cooker pot and Voila! You have Chicken/Turkey and Rice Soup
