Next month the James Beard Foundation’s Celebrity Chef Tour will make an appearance at Binkley’s Restaurant in Cave Creek. The annual tour is designed to bring “the experience of dining at New York City’s historic James Beard House to cities around the country.”
Host chef Kevin Binkley will welcome seven of the top chefs from around the Valley and country to help prepare an eight-course dinner for guests. And if you’re not already excited, just wait until you see the lineup.

Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $15,500 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
Celebrity guest chef Kevin Nashan, owner Sidney Street Café in St. Louis, Missouri, will join the following local chefs in the kitchen:
- Nobuo Fukada of Nobuo at Teeter House, JBF Chef of South West winner
- Charleen Badman of FnB, JBF Chef of South West semi-finalist
- Matt Carter of Zinc Bistro, The Mission, and The House,
- Joshua Hebert of Posh
- James Porter of Petite Maison
- Christopher Gross of Christopher’s, JBF Chef of South West winner
The details of the eight-course menu, which will be complemented with amuse-bouche in true Binkley’s fashion, haven’t been released but we can tell you that chef Binkley will prepare a dessert course featuring several different varieties of chocolate. Chef Fukuda will present a chilled crudo, while chef Gross offers a dish featuring foie gras.
Tickets to the dinner cost $240 a person, which includes all food, wine pairings, tax, and gratuity. They can be purchased online.
