Independent Journalism in Phoenix Needs You
We need to raise $15,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.
We suffer our share of PR come-ons, and as a rule, we place them on par with the hissing cockroach. The Bobcat 50 Years Unleashed North American Road Tour, however, is one of the most endearing idiotic notions we’ve encountered. Who, other than those starry-eyed romantics in the heavy-construction industry, gives a crap that the inventor of the compact skid-steer loader is celebrating its golden anniversary? Or that the North Dakota outfit thunk up a 23-city tour to showcase its memorabilia? Well, laugh it up, fuzzball, but don’t miss the Bobcat Square Dance, described as a “choreographed routine featuring four Bobcat skid-steer loaders dancing like a group of human square dancers.”
