Why is it that no one dances to rock anymore? Today, most nightlife enthusiasts bump and grind to Top 40, hip-hop, and house, but in the swingin’ ’60s, there was enough rock ’n’ roll hip-shakin’ goin’ on to jolt the Richter scale. Though we can’t recapture that magic without a time machine, we’ll happily settle for Déjà Vu, a new evening of retro rock that happens on Wednesday nights. DJ Beatnik spins ’60s garage, soul, R&B, freak beat, psych, surf, and fuzz exclusively on vinyl. The joint’s indoor/outdoor bar, game room, and drink specials make this a great spot for non-dancers as well.

Wednesdays, 9 p.m.-2 a.m., 2008
