Oh, the lovely, majestic butterfly. There isn’t a person in the world who could hate these gorgeous critters. They give unattractive people hope that morphing from a fat blob to a stunning beaut is, indeed, possible. Little kids love them because they’re reminded of the dramatic climax to Eric Carle’s The Very Hungry Caterpillar. And even frat boys reserve a special place in their hearts for the insects, because the winged things conjure that special memory of some ho’s low-back tattoo during a very different kind of climax. So magical.
Take a second to think of your own precious butterfly memory, then head to the annual “Spring Butterfly Exhibit” at Desert Botanical Garden, where you can wander through a special enclosure as hundreds of the little guys flutter through the air.
