Will Smith said it best about Miami: “Party in the city where the heat is on/All night on the beach ’til the break of dawn.” Most will agree that Miami is best known for its hard-body beach parties, perfectly bronzed skin (no spray tans allowed), and electro-booty bass courtesy of 2 Live Crew, Gucci Crew II, and other acts from the ’80s and early ’90s that flossed a TR-808 drum machine. However, Miami dance music has changed substantially since then, and Scratch-D, electro pioneer and founder of DJ duo Dynamix II, will show Phoenix what it sounds like now.
