Does the Valley truly harbor a huge NASCAR following, or do fans of the left-turn circuit flock to town just to set up their homes-on-wheels for a weekend visit? Maybe it’s both. How else to explain when upward of 400,000 spectators come to witness a sport that requires binoculars and ear plugs just to enjoy/survive? Whatever the reason, one of the biggest sporting events happening on the planet this weekend takes place at Phoenix International Raceway with the NASCAR Camping World Series Phoenix 150 on Thursday, April 10, the Bashas’ Supermarkets 200 on Friday, April 11, and the biggie – the Subway Fresh Fit 500 – on Saturday, April 12.
