Most restaurants won’t sell you the spice blends that they use in their renowned dishes, but that’s one of the many things that sets Chakra 4 Herb & Tea House apart. The staff is passionate about the ingredients used, especially their medicinal properties, so the food they serve is as good for you as it tastes. And since Chakra 4 has racked up several Best Of awards and its Moroccan Nomad Stew landed at number one on our list of favorite vegetarian entrees in metro Phoenix, you can be assured that the food tastes damn good. In large part, those memorable flavors come from the spices, which are said to have health benefits all their own.

Turmeric is an antioxidant that provides liver support, acts as an anti-inflammatory, and is touted to have anti-cancer properties.

Cinnamon helps to eliminate cholesterol, lowers blood sugar, improves circulation and digestion, and is also an aphrodisiac.

Clove is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-parasitic and also provides digestive support.

This Moroccan spice mix is available to purchase in the herbal store (in the same location as the restaurant). For more information about how herbs and spices can be as healthful as they are helpful with flavor, simply stop by Chakra 4 and strike up a conversation.
