The Breakfast Joynt, the locally owned breakfast and lunch spot that closed its North Scottsdale location in April after five years, is ready to (sun)rise again.
Over the summer, owners David Phelps and Becky Mazzocco found a new home for The Breakfast Joynt’s tagline “Everyone Likes It in the Morning!” as well as its hearty a.m. eats like home-style biscuits and gravy, Swedish pancakes with lingonberries, and chocolate-chip crepes.
And if the damned furniture arrives when it’s supposed to, Phelps and Mazzocco hope to open this week.

The new location of The Breakfast Joynt will be at 20775 North Pima Road in North Scottsdale (next to Fleming’s Steakhouse at DC Ranch. The remodeled space includes bright yellow paint, updated lighting, new kitchen equipment, and custom tables and chairs that, according to the restaurant’s Facebook page, are scheduled to arrive today or tomorrow.
If that happens, Phelps and Mazzocco hope to open the re-located and remodeled Breakfast Joynt at 7 a.m.,Thursday, September, 19.
