The production sheds light on the circumstances of a small-town hunting accident through the eyes of a cheese-plant bookkeeper. “It’s intriguing because no one in Arizona has seen it,” says Jeana Whitaker, producing artistic director of North Valley Playhouse. “I’m really stoked,” White agrees. “For the complaints of theater in town doing retreads, how this has fallen through the cracks . . . it’s a real actors’ piece, and it’s a murder mystery on top of everything else . . . it’s not Arsenic and Old Lace. We do say dirty words.”
