One year after Marcellino Ristorante Italiano announced it was leaving its longtime home on Northern Avenue to move to SouthBridge in Scottsdale, a new casual eatery has opened in its place.
It’s called Thirteenorth Grille, and it’s owned by Chase Herrick, who also owns Stumpy’s Pizza in the same plaza.
Executive chef Thomas Ryan‘s lunch and dinner menu is firmly planted in American comfort food territory, and it’s affordable; there’s only one item over $20.
Appetizers include crabcakes, wings, bruschetta, and seared ahi with wasabi cream. There are six different salads, as well as a build-your-own burger, a Philly cheese steak on French bread, and a veggie wrap. Main dishes run the gamut from steaks and grilled salmon to shrimp scampi tossed with linguini.
