I can’t say I didn’t see this one coming.
Pro’s Ranch Market has shuttered its adjoining Mexican restaurant, Tradiciones, for remodeling and a menu overhaul. The date of its reopening hasn’t been determined.
While the sprawling, festive sit-down eatery was a New Times favorite in its early days, last year I found the place in such a diminished state that I re-reviewed it — and the results weren’t pretty.
The place was a shadow of its former self, and the food was definitely not up to par.
Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $17,250 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
If this closing means a true makeover for the place (and not, as in the case of so many local businesses, a less splashy way of actually shutting down for good), then I applaud it.
