A lot can happen in six months.
For Regions Bistro & Bar in Scottsdale (9343 E. Shea), that span of time included a February debut (followed a month later by the opening of a sister location in Tempe), the swift departure of its original executive chef, a sudden closure in June (read the heaps of blog comments by angry former employees who say they got stiffed, big time), and now — as of tonight — a reopening under new ownership.
There’s a new executive chef, Marcos Barreto, who worked for Cafe Terra Cotta and Janos in Tucson, as well as a new director of operations, Mathew Hamilton. Barreto’s unveiling a summer barbecue menu (part of the restaurant’s rotating seasonal offerings), but for now, Regions’ American comfort food menu is largely unchanged:
Nightly dinner service starts tonight, and daily lunch service begins tomorrow. Regions’ Tempe location will tentatively re-open in early- to mid-October.
