North Scottsdale has a new spot for upscale Mexican fare and shaken margaritas. As of late last month, Salt & Lime Mexican Grill is open at 9397 E Shea Boulevard. The restaurant serves a menu of modern Mexican fare — think, five kinds of salsa, empanadas, and pork belly tacos.
Salt & Lime Mexican Grill is located next door to sister restaurant, Stone & Vine Urban Italian, a three-year-old restaurant specializing in Italian cuisine and signature fresh-fruit martinis.

The restaurant offers a menu of Mexican cuisine that includes salads, burritos, tacos, and specialty entrees. And though your meal comes with complimentary chips and salsa, you can also purchase a selection of specialty salsas — one for $2 or three for $5. Options include pico de gallo, tomatillo, pineapple, habanero, and chile de arbol.

Tacos range in price from $4.50 to $5.75 for ahi tuna and can be ordered in a lettuce bowl. Other entree options include half roasted chicken ($18.25), shrimp burrito ($12.75), and pork or chicken tamales (two for $15.75).
On the drinks side, look for a solid list of tequilas, both red and white wines, and Mexican and craft beers on tap and by the bottle. There’s also a menu of cocktails that includes creations such as the JUAN + ONLY ($7.50) with Jameson, triple sec, lime, simple syrup, and orange juice and GUERITA “BLONDIE” ($7.50), which features Sky vanilla bean, triple sec, lemon, and white cranberry juice.
Happy hour is offered daily from 3 to 6 p.m. Specials include $5 loaded agua frescas, $5.50 house margaritas, and $4 beers on tap. There are also five discounted appetizers and taco deals including $3.50 al pastor tacos, $3.25 veggie tacos, and $4.25 fish tacos.
