Looking to celebrate National Margarita Day? You’ve come to the right place.
Here’s the thing. The New Times editorial staff can’t agree on anything.
Most of the time, we can’t even agree on what day of the week it is. And don’t get us started on the topic of the Sprinkles cupcakes that regularly hit the “free table” in the office.
But AVION Silver Tequila is a different story.
Full dislosure: A big bottle of the stuff landed here last week. Free. So consider that. But also consider that this is one curmudgeonly group, particularly when it comes to alcohol.
The consensus? Get it after the jump.
“This is actually a little worrisome,” one female staffer wrote, swilling the AVION from a plastic cup with just a little ice and a big smile. “I’m concerned.”
Concerned for our future, that is, because this tequila is too good.
“I’m so happy that it’s probably out of my price point for tequila,” another staff member said. Otherwise, he’d sip it like water.
For the record, AVION retails for about $45 a bottle.
The tag on the bottle talks about slow roasted agave, small batch distillation and tinges of mint, rosemary, flowers, grapefruit and pineapple. It’s dangerously good — doesn’t burn, just leaves you a little numb. Delicious, which is something we never thought we’d say about straight tequila.
All we know is that this is too good to waste on shots. We’re hiding (what’s left of) the bottle from our co-workers.
