Keep Phoenix New Times Free
We’re aiming to raise $10,000 by April 26. Your support ensures New Times can continue watching out for you and our community. No paywall. Always accessible. Daily online and weekly in print.
Situated a block off Mill Avenue, (21 E. 6th St., Ste. 114, behind the Brickyard building), the restaurant still has an organic, local focus, and a light, healthful menu of sandwiches and salads. Original owner Austin Vickers has new partners now — Dee Dee Maza and Nick Buchholz. Founding chef Damon Brasch is no longer involved, however.
The Center Bistro still has a small retail component, offering wine, bread, cheese, meat, and other deli items, as well an airy, urban vibe, with art from Eric Cox of ArtsyCoxy.
Breakfast is simple and light, with pastries, local yogurt and granola, and a breakfast sandwich, plus espresso drinks (

Business hours are currently 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, and a website — www.thecenterbistro.com — should be up sometime this week.
