Just months after celebrating its five-year anniversary in June, Sweet Republic, Scottsdale’s top-notch artisan ice cream shop from Jan Wichayanuparp and Helen Yung, is giving its fans another reason to celebrate: a second location in Phoenix.

Yung tells me Sweet Republic will be making a second home for itself at 6054 North 16th Street, on the west side of 16th just north of Bethany Home Road (in the strip mall next to Asahi Bakery).
“Sweet Republic has been in Scottsdale for over five-and-a-half years, so we’re excited to finally be closer to our Phoenix customers,” says Yung. “We’re currently expanding our Scottsdale location to increase production space and freezer storage so that we can supply the new Phoenix location and our growing list of wholesale customers as well as our outlet at Sky Harbor Terminal 4.”
Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $17,250 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
Yung says she’s planning on opening the Phoenix location of Sweet Republic in spring of next year. The Sweet Republic at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport’s Terminal 4 is expected to open by early 2014.
