We stopped by Urban Cookies a few weeks ago for a treat and were excited to learn that they offer more things than just stellar cookies and creative cupcakes.
Three treats, after the jump.
1. Sheet cakes
While slowly demolishing one of the monthly cupcake flavors and sipping on icy cold milk, we watched customer after customer pick up special order sheet cakes. Huh?!
Did you know you can order sheet cakes in any of the regular Urban Cookies cupcake flavors? All you need to do is pick from one of their standard flavors (Brown Velvet, Carrot, Chocolate, Vanilla, Lemon, Coconut, Strawberry or Banana), give them 48 hours notice and choose from an 8×8″ or 9×13″ cake. The 8×8″ one serves 9 and is $17.99. The 9×13″ cake serves 12-24 and is $35.99. That’s $1.99 per serving from a Food Network Challenge winning bakery. Such a deal.

2. Vegan cupcakes/cake
Something else you might now know s that their Banana cake/cupcake is vegan. Plant eaters, rejoice that you can enjoy your Ollie Cake. It’s a banana cardamom cake with vegan vanilla frosting. Sounds amazing – vegan or not.
3. Latin-inspired cakes
Finally, if you live or spend time in the East Valley, you can visit 7 of the Serrano’s locations and find jumbo size (5.5 oz vs. 3.4 oz) margarita or chile chocolate flavored Ollie Cakes. The Margarita is a vanilla-lime cake with tequila lime buttercream frosting. The Chile Chocolate is a serrano chile infused chocolate cake with cinnamon chocolate buttercream frosting. Dan Looney, from Urban Cookies, tells us to call ahead to make sure they have the cupcakes available.
