Number 67: Duck curry at Sala Thai
Curry can be such an urgent craving, as if nothing else in the world will suffice until you have exotic spices practically seeping out of your pores.
Sala Thai is just the place to indulge — and whether you like it mild or hot enough to numb your mouth. They have more kinds of curry than you see at many Thai restaurants, and considering how many competitors there are around town, that’s saying quite a lot.
Duck curry is one of the specialties that’s worth coming for, with tender slices of roasted bird swimming in velvety, coconutty red curry sauce. It’s also got fresh Thai basil, chunks of pineapple, pepper, and onion for sweet and tangy contrast. You can’t imagine how good it smells, but once you’ve tried it, you’ll never forget.
