Want to know what new release discs and platters are moving across the Valley at local record stores? We’ve got you covered with another installment of What’s Selling.

Adele came up big at the Grammy’s Sunday, but she’s nowhere to be seen on Hoodlums list of weekly top-sellers. It’s quite possible that everyone in Tempe already has a copy of 21.

Instead there’s “new” blood circulating around town, starting with morose troubadour Leonard Cohen. Old Ideas is Cohen’s first new album since filing for bankruptcy in 2005, and is good enough to snag the top spot this week. Lana Del Rey also reared her ugly head popping up at number three while Gotye’s Making Mirrors clocks in at number five, led by the playful “Somebody That I Used to Know.”

At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $15,500 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
