FilmBar owner Kelly Aubey and Programming Director Steve Weiss announced last night that the downtown film venue is delaying its opening for a week — the first show will run the night of February 10 instead of February 3.

Weiss says the program schedule has been adjusted — Red Chapel and Metropolis will still run first, with Thor at the Bus Stop screening at a later date and Marwencol in March (check out the trailers here).

Straight to Hell Returns is still the Friday/Saturday late night film, according to Weiss.

The 21-and-over independent theater at 815 N. Second Street was originally slated to
open in November, but has delayed the opening due to city bureaucratic
limbo (read: liquor licensing and building plan paperwork and approval delays).

Art. Film. Dance. Books. Recreation. Even sex and dating. It’ll be fun, we promise.

“It takes time to build it right,” Weiss says, but promises big results and a few special
events during the new opening week.
