$10,000

One new idea for every day in 2011. We’re talking big, small, local,
international, in action, and on the drawing board. Here’s today’s —
what’s yours?

Bobby Solomon believes readers should have a say in their book covers.

The LA-based writer hosts a monthly contest on his design blog, The Fox is Black, that invites anyone and everyone to “re-cover” his monthly selection.

The rules: “come up with something that’s new and contemporary, something that will grab the attention of a person walking by but that still stays true to the spirit of the book,” he writes. “Don’t do anything retro, a Penguin throwback or anything of the sort. I want to see new, fresh ideas”

The Prize: $100 Amazon gift card

This month’s book is Charlotte Brontë’s Jane Eyre. For file specifications and submission information, check out the contest entry.

All submissions are due by September 1 at midnight.
