You don’t need us to tell you that Ashton Kutcher is kind of a knucklehead, but country star Miranda Lambert apparently needs a reminder after the television goofballs on-stage attempt at country crooning.
Kutcher presented Lambert with the Female Vocalist of the Year award at the Academy of Country Music Awards where he also sang a hook from George Strait’s, “I Cross My heart” earlier this week.
The YouTube clip, which you can see after the jump, got us thinking about other actors who have tried their hand at singing with equally dismal results. It’s easy to dismiss their efforts, but sometimes you just gotta know when you’re reaching beyond your grasp.
Ashton Kutcher
Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $15,500 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
On Monday following the ceremony Lambert tweeted: “Was Ashton Kutcher making fun of country or is it just me?” When isn’t this shit heal making fun of something?
Joaquin Phoenix
Regardless of his ruse, it’s still hilarious to hear Phoenix’s rapping alter-ego.
David Hasselhoff
Hasselhoff’s music career reminded us that the only cool thing about Knight Rider was KITT.
Crispin Glover
As if Glover’s acting career isn’t strange enough, he just had to venture into singing. “I was walking on the ground, I didn’t make a sound, and then I turned around, I saw a clown. Clown, clowny clown clown.”
Eddie Murphy
And then, every once in a while an actor makes good. The Rick James produced “Party All The Time” actually reached the number two spot on the Billboard 100 back in 1985. As for the rest of that album, well, we’ll just forget about that.
